The P.M.Foundation's flagship programme which commenced in 1989 and continues till date has awarded over 30,000 brilliant students across Kerala to recognize and celebrate their outstanding achievements in the Secondary Board examinations.
During the Annual Awards for Excellence programme, winners receive cash awards, certificates of merit, and take part in thematic workshops and seminars by renowned speakers.
Over the years, new categories of awards have been instituted to include academic accomplishments and best practices in schools and orphanages, in addition to the prestigious P.M.Foundation Fellowship award.
Awards for Academic Excellence
The top 250 students are honored with cash awards and merit certificates at the Awards for Academic Excellence Programme. The awardees become eligible for the next selection stage of the P.M.Foundation Fellowship Awards.
Justice M. Fathima Beevi Memorial Award
A special award is introduced in the name of Justice M. Fathima Beevi, Former trustee to the Talent Search Exam Topper from 2023.
P.M.Foundation Fellowship Award
Eligible students who have succeeded in the Talent Search are invited to participate in a 3-day residential camp held in the summer vacation during which they interact, learn and work with multiple resource persons from different sectors of academia and industry. The programme by itself is an educational experience.
The participants will be assessed during this camp and selected for the interview stage which will be held in person in Kochi. Only 10 students are selected as P.M.Foundation Fellows each year.
The Fellowship itself is a 5 year programme during which the student receives a grant of Rs 1.25 lakhs, and will be assigned a mentor who will be a guide and resource person to help make informed choices about internships, career paths and overall personal development. P.M.Foundation Fellows will also join a vibrant network of senior Fellows who include dynamic achievers and leaders in different fields of work.
Prof. K.A. Jaleel Memorial Award for best practices in schools
In recognition of schools pursuing best practices in diverse spheres of school life, this award is given to schools evaluated under the following thematic areas:
- Green Campus
- Diversity in Campus
- Social Inclusiveness
- Academic Excellence
- Social Commitment (initiatives taken for social welfare)
Government schools/aided/unaided LP/UP/HS/HSS schools are eligible to apply for this award. An expert committee shortlists the potential schools based on their credentials submitted along with the application. Thereafter, the schools are instructed to make a visual presentation before the committee. Finally, the committee visits the shortlisted schools to certify the credentials.
The top three institutions are given a cash award of three lakhs, two lakhs and one lakh respectively along with a memento. Awards are presented at the P.M.Foundation Annual Awards for Excellence programme held in December every year.
