P.M.Foundation Fellowship

The P.M.Foundation Fellowship is a prestigious award given to a select number of students each year who meet a very high standard of excellence as defined by the Foundation. Awardees of the Fellowship, are given the honorary title of “Fellows”, a financial grant during the course of their graduation, and are deemed standard bearers who uphold the Foundation's priorities of nurturing and celebrating values of humanism through exemplary endeavors in their personal, academic and professional lives.

Objective of the P.M.Foundation Fellowship:
To identify, inspire, and mentor a cohort of brilliant and creative students with potential for leadership who are passionate about nurturing and celebrating values of humanism through exemplary endeavors in their personal and professional careers.

Goals/Priorities of the P.M.Foundation Fellowship:

Eligibility

Students who have completed Class X Board examinations and secured the corresponding grade/ percentage can apply.

Method of Selection

There are three levels for the selection process

  • Talent Search Examination: Students who meet the “Eligibility” criteria for the corresponding academic year have to register for the Talent Search Examination conducted by the P.M.Foundation across Kerala and GCC. Announcements for the same are published in June on the Foundation’s website and in major Malayalam newspapers. Students have to register and will be given details about designated examination centers. The examination takes place in August. Candidates’ performance in basic disciplines, reasoning, and emotional intelligence will be assessed. The examination will consist of multiple choice questions and is designed for students who have completed Class X.
  • Duration and Format:
    Total questions - 120.
    Duration : 120 minutes.
  • Subjects covered include:
    1. English – 10 questions
    2. Physics – 15 questions
    3. Chemistry – 15 questions
    4. Mathematics – 15 questions
    5. Biology – 15 questions
    6. History, Civics & Economics – 15 Questions
    7. Geography – 10 Questions
    8. General Knowledge – 10 Questions
    9. IQ & EQ – 15 Questions
  • Outcome:
    • The top 250 students will be felicitated and awarded cash prizes at the P.M.Foundation Annual Awards for Excellence in December.
    • A 3-day residential workshop will be conducted for the selected students.
  • In-house Workshop. Selected students attend a 3-day residential workshop organized by the Foundation where they will be assessed on interpersonal skills, presentation of ideas, and leadership potential. The workshop will host an array of activities and learning opportunities facilitated by renowned faculty from across the state.
  • Personal interview. Selected students will be interviewed in person by a panel of Trustees of the Foundation within three months of the workshop. 10 - 15 students are selected from this group, and thereby inducted into the Fellowship upon successful completion of their Pre-degree/Plus Two program.

The Award Ceremony

All selected students will be inducted to the Fellowship at a ceremonial function. Fellows will be oriented to the Foundation, its expectations from and commitments to the esteemed group of young men and women. Fellows will be awarded a ceremonial pin.

Fellowship will be awarded to the P.M.Foundation Fellows every year for a period of 5 years for their higher studies (after the successful completion of the Plus 2/ Class 12 examinations).

The P.M.Fellowship and its significance:

The Fellowship is a lifelong association with the Foundation. It is an honorary title given to a highly select group of individuals who will each receive a financial grant for a period of five years (coinciding with their undergraduate studies), personal mentoring, various learning opportunities, and a unique platform for intellectual dialogue and collective efforts to strengthen and take forward the P.M.Foundation’s message of empowerment through inclusive social progress.

P.M.Foundation Fellows are expected to communicate and stay connected with the Foundation for a continuous and productive interaction during the period of the Fellowship and its aftermath. This will be done through annual programs such as “P.M.Foundation Fellows’ Interface” meets, webinars and a dedicated mentorship program during the 5 years. Attendance and participation in at least 3 events in a year are mandatory during the first 5 years.

P.M.Foundation Fellows’ Interface: An in-house/ residential workshop organized by the Foundation with structured modules of learning experiences, and interactive sessions with renowned leaders and thinkers from various domains. The interface is an opportunity to learn, share and strengthen the Fellowship network. There will be two meetings in a year, and details will be announced well in advance. Webinars and Meetings

The foundation may schedule and deploy a calendar of webinars on relevant topics, or contemporary events of social importance. Details will be shared and announced well in advance.

Mentoring: The P.M.Foundation will assign mentors for Fellows who will keep track of the latter’s progress through regular communication schedules, and offer guidance for personal and professional progress.

Scope:

Withdrawal of the Fellowship: The Foundation reserves its right to withdraw the Fellowship without citing the reasons thereof. Non-compliance with the rules of the Fellowship will amount to automatic cancellation of the Fellowship.
